Rowena Plateau, Twin Tunnels trail, UnCruise Rivers of Adventure cruise
Located near The Dalles on the Columbia river, the Rowena Plateau is a geological wonder that will delight the hiker in you. Opt for a 2-mile round trip hike to the crest of Tom McCall Nature Preserve, where you’ll enjoy expansive views over the geological formations and the river below. Another hiking option is the steeper, 3.6-mile round trip Tom McCall Point trail where, on a clear day, you can savor views of Mt. Adams, Mt. Hood, and the Columbia River Gorge. Keep your eye out for local wildlife, from deer, to birds and even tiny pond frogs! In the afternoon, bike or hike the historic Twin Tunnels trail, built in 1921 as part of the Columbia River Highway.
